In October 2014 I had the honour of meeting Auschwitz survivor Ivor Perl, and hearing about his life. This animation, commissioned by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust's Memory Makers project keepthememoryalive.hmd.org.uk/ tells parts of his story alongside reflecting on the scale of the tragedy that was the Holocaust.
It is impossible to sum up his life and experiences in a short animation, but I hope that hearing Ivor speak touches people as it has touched me.
The animation is a collage of hand drawn animation, portraits of Ivor and photographic images. It uses excerpts from Ivor's testimony and my own words as narration.
